Prague photos

... will be online soon! I was going to do them tonight, but discovered fotopic had suffered a glitch resulting in the need to upload all my Serbian snaps again. I was impressed at their Restor-o-matic gadget, but very relieved that I keep all my photo files on my PC.

Anyway, it's only (!) a month after Hazel, Raji, Ingrid, and I spent a fab weekend in Prague. Great apartment, located on the Castle side of the Charles Bridge, fantastic sights, plenty of beer, lots of Ice Hockey fans and the luxury of a pre-arranged airport transfer.

I'll do a retrospective report once I've tidied up and fotopicced the photos. There are lots..... Prague's a very photogenic place!

Our Strand Building correspondent reports from the scene....

Mary returned home to learn that Soupy & Squealy had suffered severe shrinkage in the 40 degree wash. Phil has been fully exonerated for his role in the Slippers' sad demise, which occurred between the hours of noon and 2pm today.

A great place for a weekend break, even when you coincide with the Ice Hockey World Championships!

Great apartment in Kampa (*right* by the Bridge), booked through aparthouse20, convenient flights on Friday/Sunday evenings with CzechAir, and an easy transfer between the two courtesy of the Prague Airport Shuttle guys.

Prague is a compact city, with sights conveniently split into two halves, balanced either side of the Charles Bridge. We spent Saturday exploring the Old Town, King Charles Square, Old Town Hall with the clock and the Tin Church, the Powder Tower, Wenceslas Square and the Jewish Quarter, with occasional stops to sample various beers! And on Sunday we headed West into Mala Strana and up to the Castle.

Fab!

Better late than never, I've spent this evening editing and uploading my photos from the 5 days Phil and I spent in Serbia for Teodora's christening (and my birthday), and writing up the highlights for Ben Haines' guide.

Photos, by day, are:

And seeing as I've just discovered that Phil's at home in bed with a cold, time for me to return to do my Florence Nightingale duty!

The former bowling green in Priory Park was taken over by a horde (sic) of 4, 5 and 6 years olds, mainly dressed in pink, celebrating Rosa's 5th birthday on 23 April. I enjoyed myself first as warden of the giant bubble wand (more of a sword actually) from the Early Learning Centre and then later on as one half of the legendry Loosemore Footballing duo. Legendary I tell you* !
