I resigned today….

…. but Abby’s asked me not to tell anyone until the new year. It’s a relief to have handed over my very short letter, and to have started the path towards leaving. i can see that I’m going to have to get my Reasons for Leaving off pat.

Au revoir Simmons & Simmons….

….. Hello Norton Rose.

Despite the last minute curve ball, I’ve decided that I’m going to accept the offer from Norton Rose to join them as a project manager in their IT department, and I’ve just called Computer People Kate to let her know. She’s getting NR to send out my contract today.

Next task is to write my letter of resignation and hand it in to Abby without her thinking it’s a wind up…. wihch I think might be her first reaction after all the gallows humour of the past few weeks.

M865 Project Management (completed)

…. with a Pass with Merit!!

Hurrah – it *was* worth all the blood, sweat and tears (yes, all three), and it’s very good timing.

Fingers are firmly crossed for the rest of the S&S team.

Next stop – ISEB

The Open University’s M865 has been accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM). It has also been accredited as providing an equivalent training and written examination to that required for the Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB) Certificate in Project Management for Information Systems.

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason

Having hated and slated Napoleon Dynamite, it was a relief to enjoy Bridget Jones v2, especially (or perhaps because) several friends had said they’d found it a bit of a let down.

Lots of laughs, and even if Bridget Jones’ ditzyness and paranoia are a bit irritating at times, she redeems herself in Thailand, and being the puck in a face off between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth must be every girl’s dream (surely!!).

Probably not one for the boys though, unless out of love or duty.

Oh, and getting tickets at the Odeon Tottenham Court Road must be the *worst* customer experience London has to offer.

Exhausted!

For a Sunday that we’d planned – only yesterday – to spend relaxing and reading, I’ve had a busy, but satisfying day…. sanding down and re-polfilla-ing the remaining holes in the ceiling/walls, sweeping and cleaning all the floors, unpacking all the boxes in the lounge, sorting out stuff onto the bookshelves, re-arranging (with Phil’s help) the empty boxes on top of the wardrobe in the spare room/office, vacuum-packing duvets… stopping to catch breath and take tea with Phil’s mum and Chris, who brought lovely flowers from Columbia Road, and some sugary, lemony cakes from Tenerife …. breaking into my old trunk and consigning lots of surplus bedding to the Charity Shops, all finished off with a tasty (if expensive) Keralan takeaway from The Coconut Lagoon on Goswell Road, and a lovely, long, Lush B.A.T.H.
