They Came to Baghdad – Agatha Christie

My first Christie – and it was a real page turner: a chance meeting with a handsome chap leads Victoria Jones, mediocre shorthand typist with a very active imagination, to adventures galore in 1940s (1950s?) Baghdad involving spies, doppelgängers and archaeologists. Truly another world.
